EDWARD THOMPSON /
PHOTOGRAPHER
Welcome
I’ve been in love with photography for over 25 years and I’m hoping you’ve found my website because you love photography too.
One day, 15 years ago, National Geographic Magazine reached out to me to publish a photo-feature I had made on.... chickens!
It launched my remarkable career.

Freelance Pro Photographer
I’ve worked on 3,000 assignments. From being a holiday camp photographer to hanging out with CEO’s. It’s been an unbelievable career trajectory.
You may have seen my photographs in The Guardian Weekend Magazine, BBC, CNN, Trouw, The Sunday Times Magazine.
Contact me if you need a photographer whose experienced and capable.

Selling Out Photo Books
You can order my PHOTO BOOKS here
At present there are under 30 copies left of In-A-Gadda-Da-England (2022) my Sony World Photo Award Winning Project that became a Lucie Photo Book Award Finalist. You can nab one of the last copies for £125.
There are under 90 copies of my Texas Hill Country Opus ‘When In The Lonestar State’ (2023) which I am still selling at £40, but not for long. That photo book is in the collection of the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Texas, which is pretty amazing as I’m not American but due to the quality of the book they made an exception.
There are 200 copies of my most recent photo book ‘Welcome To Dungeness’, at £40.
A Genuine Photo Youtuber?!
Check out my Youtube Channel
For over two years I’ve put out a video a week on my Youtube channel ‘Pictures On My Mind’. I do interviews with photographers, photo book deep dives, reviews, some armchair philosophy and a little silliness. But it is true gold in the dank dark void that is the Photo Youtuber hustle culture hellscape and you should really subscribe to it. My most popular video has over 70,000 views. But don’t worry, its still not ‘cool’. I only have 6,000 subscribers and no sponsor... yet... Wink Wink Call me
Real Photographer, Real help
I’ve taught at dozens of universities in my life. The highest I climbed was as a Head of Year and Senior Lecturer. I’ve led photography workshops at The Whitechapel Gallery, The Photographers Gallery, Turner Contemporary and given talks at the V&A and The Bishopsgate Institute.
I offer 1 to 1 tutorials to photographers for only £50 for 50 minutes. Ludicrous, right? Most photographers I help get support, feedback and cheerleading once a month.
Zines
Photo books are great, the bees knees. But they are expensive. In 2023 I started publishing a whole series of Zines on the theme of protest: Bilderberg, Occupy, XR, Anonymous and the London Olympics. Only £8 + p&p.
